Impalas and Heroes Con, Yo

Monday, May 30th, 2011

It’s “I” time up in this here Animal Alphabet and I has busted out not one, but two Impalas. ‘Cept only one is the animal variety.

It’s also almost time for the greatest weekend of the entire year, the one that encapsulates Heroes Con! This year’s show is gonna be filthy with Sketch Charlotte brethren, here’s where you can find many of us:

  • Rich Barrett will  be in Indie Island at table AA-429
  • Bridgit Scheide will be at tables AA-303 and 304.
  • Henry Eudy (that’s me) will be at table AA-336.
  • Julian-Marcus Blake and David Phillips will be at SP-20.
  • Jason McLellan will be at SP-22.
  • Tom Davidson, I’m pretty sure, will have a table but I’m not sure where yet.
  • Brandon Padgett and Terence Hoskins will be helping out our friends at The Dollar Bin booth.
  • Heather Mckinney will be running the Info Booth.
  • Eraklis “Herc” Petmezas and Jerry Stanford will be volunteering during the show.
  • Seth Peaglar, Shelley Drum, Rico Renzi, Matt “Snaps” Knapik and our pal Andy Mansell will all be running the show and will, presumedly, be everywhere at once.

It’s gonna be a really great show and I wish all my friends the very best of luck. Heroes Con, ho!!!

Blast from the Past

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Hey there, remember me? Hope everybody had a good holiday. I wanted to share some of what I’ve been working on lately. If you’d like to see more I’ve got an album of comics at http://www.myspace.com/tessgadwa. That’s sort of a placeholder until I can get a real comics blog together… hopefully January.

I still follow the blog and I really miss you guys. I’ve looked for a similar group here in MA and have not yet found one. Let me know if you ever make it up to cons in the NYC area or elsewhere in the Northeast!

I still don't like drawing in Illustrator, but I suppose it was a good experience...

Wedding Favor, Side One

I did this bookmark (front and back) as a wedding favor for friends.

These two are actually old (Fall 07) but I wanted to get permission from the bride and groom before posting.

Nathan Sorry Splash Page – Final Image

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

A while back I posted the sketch below so I thought people might be interested in seeing where it went from here.

cover_sketch

I inked over this sketch and scanned it in, doing a heavy amount of Photoshop retouching not just to the line integrity but to the actual structure of the face which I wasn’t happy with once I saw it on screen.

cover_line

I then added some tones and dropped it into a page layout I’ve been working on. I always knew I was only going to use half the face but I inked the whole thing since I wasn’t sure if I’d change my mind. Below is the final image and the final design for a new splash page that is now live on NathanSorry.com

Valentine’s Day is coming

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

I recently created a bunch of character illustrations for Design Transmit’s Valentine’s Day E-Cards. You can choose a background, add some characters, type a message and email it to a Valentine or save it to the gallery.

Give it a try!
