Red Right Hand

This was done for the Sketchercise theme of music or song. It’s John Constantine with a Red Right Hand, which is a reference to a Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds song. I like to think that I’d have put a big demon behind him and a flaming pentagram, but let’s face it, I’m to effing tired and lazy to do that right now.

Mega Man!

This is a commission for my good buddy Zach! He requested Mega Man, so I wanted to do it up right for him! Points if you know which stage from which game I drew in the background…it’s not a very awesome likeness.

Black Panther Commission

This is a commission done for Dollar Bin interviewer extraordinaire, Joel. We both share a love of Black Panther…specifically Christopher Priest’s run on the title. Still learning with the markers, but I see things here that I like. Practice, Practice, Practice, Practice, etc.

Jonah Lomu

Drew this piece on my lunch break. It’s Jonah Lomu, one of my favorite rugby players of all time (along with Tana Umaga). Jonah played for the New Zealand All Blacks, and was arguably the first superstar rugby player ever. He is a straight up BEAST.

This Callisto piece was sorta envisioned as a companion piece for my earlier Punk Storm. She’s a scummy, salty old broad, kinda like the pirate queen of the Morlocks. And I just realized I need to color in her belt. I’ve gotta stop drinking.

Sketched this up really quick at the last SC meeting. It’s inked with Henry’s brush pen, and I really like the lines that come out of it…so much so that I ordered one for myself! Now it’s time to go play catchup with some of the other topics I missed!

Hellboy

I wanted to get this up before everyone else starts posting and puts me to shame…

I like playing with HB’s arm size a bit. Theoretically, he should have one kinda monstrous arm (his right one, duh) and one smaller arm. but for this I just made it a tad bigger, and of course it’s a little larger because of the pose.

I had a lot of fun inking this one. It’s all brush with the exception of the white on his right hand, and some stuff in his skullular region.

Riverdale Avengers

Not THOSE Avengers, but the awesome British show featuring John Steed and Emma Peel. This is as close to creative as I could get after seeing all of the other rad and thoughtful submissions. Now back to inking for the Hellboy Sketchercise!

Sketchercise! – Huey and Riley Freeman

This week’s Sketchercise directed us to draw our favorite comic strip character. I was positive I’d get beaten to the punch on Calvin and Hobbes (and I did…post it Brandon!), so I decided to go with my other favorite strip, Boondocks. A lot of people might know these guys from the cartoon, but the strip was great as well!

And before anyone says anything, yes I know that Riley doesn’t have the cornrows in the comic strip. Shut up. Heh.
