So this is kinda late but I wanted to give the Ladies’ hair sketchercize a try. So I looked up Carey Mulligan, star of such films as Never Let Me Go and uh Wall Steet 2; Financial Corruption Boogaloo. Anyways, this was a pretty tough assignment and reminded me how much life drawing or reference drawing I don’t do. I really need to get back in the habit of doing that but this was a really great exercise to get back into that habit. I’m not entirely pleased with this drawing but at the same time, it’s not an awful one and I do like how I made the hair. Thank you Pentel brush pen! I will never badmouth you again.

Sketchercise – Ladies’ Hair
Sunday, November 7th, 2010Sketchcize; Tintin
Saturday, October 30th, 2010Since Brandon jumped the gun, I’m posting second in this week’s Sketchercize even though it was my subject. I should introduce myself since it’s the first time I’ve posted on the blog proper. My name is Dan Morris and besides being a member of Sketch Charlotte, I also teach comics at CPCC. Here is my favorite character from the Herge’s wonderful Tintin stories; Professor Cuthbert Calculus, the mad scientist and central figure in my favorite Tintin story, The Calculus Affair. I like using a two color scheme and I kinda like how ominous this one has made the otherwise friendly Professor.
