So I got home a little late today, and had an email from a buddy of mine asking me if I could possibly do a pinup in an upcoming Arcana book- Coin Operated Boy. So I cranked this one out, kind of a rush, but I really dig these robot kids. hope you do too.

A commission I did for my buddy Troy @ Planet Comics. The request was for Superman to be fighting Superboy Prime…in space! Had a lot of fun with this one. Used Copic & Prismacolor markers and some white acrylic for the stars (spattered with an old toothbrush). Don’t know if you can tell on here or not, but using the two types of black ink really worked out. The background (prismacolor) is almost a matte black whereas the characters were inked with Copic multiliners for an almost gloss look. Really makes the characters pop off the background!

A while back I posted the sketch below so I thought people might be interested in seeing where it went from here.
I inked over this sketch and scanned it in, doing a heavy amount of Photoshop retouching not just to the line integrity but to the actual structure of the face which I wasn’t happy with once I saw it on screen.
I then added some tones and dropped it into a page layout I’ve been working on. I always knew I was only going to use half the face but I inked the whole thing since I wasn’t sure if I’d change my mind. Below is the final image and the final design for a new splash page that is now live on NathanSorry.com

so, Tom Corbett #1 is on the list for next wednesday- Did you order your copy? Here’s another cover I did and some sequentials for numero dos

Hi All. I’m a Newbie to the Group. Have been trading Graphics with Brandon for a little while and he has invited me to join in on the fun here. Hope to become a regular contributor to the site. Also hope to get the chance to meet everyone at one of the sketch meets.
My style is cartoony as you can see, not really good at the realistic stuff. prefer to be weird and loose with it all. Did this sketch after seeing Brandon’s MODOK and always wondered why that guy had Moe Howard hair.

Terence was nice enough to pick a pack of Bristol sketch cards up for me last week. So I sat down over the weekend and knocked 10 of them out for the upcoming Greenville Comic Con! The scans don’t do the gray tones justice, but it’s a good idea of what I’ll have available at the show!

An old Darkwing Duck sketch I did enhanced with a photo background with some photoshop filters thrown in for good measure!
