ya dig?

it started out as a means to improve my line quality, but as I progressed I wanted to see it complete, so here's the unlettered cover image. I'll have to tweak the logo to make it match now, but it's just a color swap.
C&C welcome

Nice, John. Your coloring work is really improving nicely.

The colors really make it pop. I'm not a fan of the Christmasy red+green combo, or the placement of the red ... the bear REALLY pops forward, moreso than anything else in front of him (maybe that was the intent?). The purple on the fly is nice, but it looks muddled to my eye with the cyan, greens and black that surround it. Anyway, enough of my nitpicks, it's great work. Keep it up, John!

On second look this evening, John, I totally overlooked something earlier ... I love how you used 3 tones on almost each color. It gives each color a real depth, especially the subtle nuances of the whites of the bear, the boy's shirt and the dragon fly thingies belly. Really slick! I'm gonna remember to do something similar whenever I get the itch to color. Nice and professional!!

Thanks guys!
I'll keep the coloring in mind of the dragon fly, Tom, for next time.
I've been pushing the envelope on this one, I hopefully will have big news by the next time we get together.

I HATE all these spammers on our board, YEESH! On top of that, it takes a super loooooooooooong time for any post to actually get posted (at least on my ends).
