The Queen's Mini's

Hey, anybody up for driving down to Athens, Ga., April 7 to swap mini-comics, drink beer and talk comics? What? Well, yes, I'm talking about FLUKE.

Which has me thinking, why don't we just plan and have our VERY OWN mini-comics con right here in Charlotte, organized by SketchCharlotte, maybe call it "The Queen's Mini's" or somesuch? YES, it's ambitious. YES, it'll be cheaper and funner than Heroes Con (mini-comics + zines + beer = good times had by all). And YES, we can do it ... maybe in the early fall? Whaddy'all think?

If it wasn't Easter weekend I would totally be down with a roadtrip.
That said however....I LOVE THE IDEA OF SKETCHCHARLOTTE ORGANIZING A MINICON...LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
We should totally talk more about it. It is ambitious but everything starts off small.

And I am with Herc on this. LOOOVE the idea of a mini-comics mini-con in Charlotte. My mind is awhirl with poster ideas already. I wonder what would be the best space to hold it?

Yeah, FLUKE is quite close on the calendar for me, too, but I'd love to go. I've agreed to "write" a story, mimicking a piece of literature that's had an impact on me -- in my case the "Origin of Stories" from the Seneca tribe -- in comics form, so I'm gonna be a busy beaver in the next month. I have to come up with something by April 19. But you know what? THAT will also be a mini! :) This weekend I'll have a story and thumbnails (my deadline). I'll post it as I go.

AWESOME. I think we've just done the hard part. Now, all we have to do is make a bunch of mini's, find a time and place, spread the word amongst the small press community, and then have a jammin' good time. :)

I'll somehow build out a website for the event (unless someone else really wants to, then it's all theirs). :) I am SO pumped that you'uns are pumped at the idea, too!!!

I will most likely not make Heroes Con this year and Leather Jacket Guy # 3 has yet to see print after over a year. (Don't get me started).
I would love to produce a mini-comic and help with the show in any way.
