Illo for Comicopia

TD031807.gif

I did this yesterday for the APA I'm in called Comicopia, based in Canada, for its 100th issue. I really had a ball drawing and inking this sucker, breaking in a new Niji waterbrush (hope you're enjoying yours, Tess ;) ). I finished the night with a celebration, watching Tim Burton's "Corpse Bride". Anyway, I think I might also have my new business card in this. Whaddya think?

John:

Absolutely awesome. I love the weights in the foreground, but the background hatching is really sharp!

Rich:

I am becoming very jealous of your inking skills. Your sense of light and dark is dead-on.

Tess:

Way to go, Tom... this is a whole new level for you. Love the overlapping depth and detail (the coffee cup, the cat in foreground, the floating tomahawk). Ink is an unforgiving medium, and you make it all look easy.
